SGT Schultz Cashes In: Sells Secrets to China for 300,000 Yuan and a Side of Dumplings!

Sergeant Korbein Schultz, a US Army intelligence analyst, just earned himself a seven-year “vacation” in federal prison for playing a little too fast and loose with national secrets. On Wednesday, Schultz was sentenced for handing over a whopping 92 sensitive military documents to someone in Hong Kong he thought was a Chinese government buddy—turns out, he was more of a pen pal with a $42,000 payment plan!
Schultz, who clearly forgot the “top-secret” part of his top-secret clearance, got nabbed back in March 2024 at Fort Campbell, right on the Kentucky-Tennessee border—guess he was hoping to flee to Nashville for some hot chicken and a fresh start. He pleaded guilty last August to a laundry list of charges, including conspiracy to spill defense secrets, exporting military tech without a license, and bribery. Apparently, he thought “classified” meant “share with your new BFF in Hong Kong.”
